I was born and raised in West Palm Beach Florida. I got into tattooing at a young age. At 15, I got my first tattoo and I was hooked. My early tattoo influences were from the punk and hardcore scene. I grew up going to shows, getting in trouble, and occasionally having some close calls with the law. Tattooing helped keep me out of trouble, and truly saved my life. I began my apprenticeship at Tatts Taylors Tattooing in 2003. At this point I thought I knew it all, and boy was I in for a rude awakening. After a year of serious grunt work, I began like anyone else. Little stuff here and there. I slowly started learning the tricks of the trade, and finding myself not as an artist, but finding out that this was my true calling. I have not looked back ever since....

Hey its Erik, just a quick bit about myself. I started tattooing in August of 1999, and after a year of college and other odd jobs I decided to join the Army. After my 3 year term of enlistment I wanted to get back into tattooing, so I got myself a job at a tattoo shop in Fayetteville N.C. where over the next two and a half years I worked at 2 different shops. Then after a vacation to south Florida I decided I needed a new start. A few years and a few shops later I've made my home here at Vatican Tattoo!...

Whats up! So let me start off by saying I am Tyler Nolan, born and raised right here in South Florida! Since I was a small child I've loved many forms of art. As far back as I can remember I have been drawing and painting anything i could get my hands on. I grew up in Boca Raton and attended Spanish River highschool, and even in class I always just found myself drawing up tattoos for classmates and random things that people asked me for. When I was 14 my family and I moved to a neighborhood where fortunately my neighbor was a man named Joey D, owner of Infinite Irons Tattoo machine company. Joey was my new idol covered in tattoos, great fisherman, and even better friend. At this point in my childhood I was amazed to meet such a person, so I pursued that way of making a living and still look up to Joey for advice to this day. I worked full time starting at age 14 in a reptile store in Deerfield and also hung out at a local tattoo shop. From 14 to 18 I hung out at the local shop and would draw tattoos up for people, answer phones, clean, you name it. If it had to get done, I was that guy you called to make it happen. In return one of the artists there Anthony Toro, who is no longer with us, taught me how to tattoo. So still being very young, I tattooed all my friends and was learning the hard way. At age 18 I started working full time as an artist and ive been going strong ever since....
